Am I the only one who sees hearts everywhere?
Last year I noticed an almost perfect heart in the new marble stairs of the business office where I work part time. I knew that the heart shape is prevelent in nature, at least in leaves, but it had never occurred to me before that it was a natural shape in the swirlings of marble. But there it was. Almost three inches across, right on the landing in full view of everyone, and yet I seem to be the only one who notices it. Hmmm.
As the months went by I began to notice more and more hearts everywhere. Before I write further I should also advise that I'm on a quest for romance from the inside out, that I am following my own personal philosophy on how to allow romance into your life which I've pieced together from great spiritual truths, and wonderful teachers, all of which I've that I boiled down into my own rather practical process - because though I'm an idealist by both sun sign and personality sorter I'm a very pragmatic idealist. I want ideas that can do more than live in your head. I want ideas that people will actually put to good use.
And so I'm using myself as the test rabbit for my theory, my quest, and it's been truly fascinating. For one I don't go on bad dates anymore. I haven't had much time to dedicate to dating, but I can certainly attest to a radical change in the type of dates I do go on. And for all of us who know just how bad dates can be this is truly a relief.
But I'm wandering away from hearts...the thing is that now I see hearts everywhere. I see them in puddles on the sidewalk and tiny puddles on my desk when my straw drips condensation there. I see them in greasemarks on the street and in the texture of the wall of my apartment. Just to test myself I always look away and back. Is it a fluke? No, there it is again, a little lop sided perhaps, but that ads to the charm.
At first I wondered if this was signalling that a grand romance was finally on its way to me, or just a confirmation from the universe that I was doing a better job at being a human. Now I no longer worry because it doesn't really matter. True romance bubbles up from within. But it would be lovely to hear if anyone else sees them too!

I see faces and animals in the pattern of the cork in my bathroom - and in clouds, of course :-)
Hi! I think whatever you put your attention on, you see! Whatever you look for (even subconsciously), you find! I see them too, because I want to! They bring me joy and touch MY heart. :) I have a collection of heart shaped rocks, so I tend to see them alot.
Then again, for those of us with active imaginations, we see lots of things, for example… as I was writing the above paragraph, I saw a majestic dragon float by on a cloud, it had gnarly teeth and was blowing out white puffy smoke clouds, and it was smiling… A friendly dragon floating by my window over the mountain tops.
Now that's not something you see everyday!
